Morgan Polymer Seals has a new internal vision control technology to seal the Volkswagen filter plate used in the car’s electro-hydraulic transmission control module (TECHM).
A machine called MAGIC (Automated Inspection Inspection Morgan Gasket) uses 3D scanning technology to check for aesthetic and dimensional defects in 5 million parts produced annually in Tijuana, Mexico, before shipping to OEMs in Germany and China.
Leonardo Mesa, head of automation, said: “We have programmed this machine as an active measure to ensure product quality and safety. Our inspection machines are constantly being improved to ensure the reliability of every part we manufacture, because quality is the key to timely delivery. ”
Morgan Polymer Seals is a private automotive supplier that designs and manufactures custom gaskets and seals for transmission, fuel system and electrical appliances.
