Three new iPads could be released today along with iPadOS 16

If you’ve been waiting a long time for the new iPad Pro model, then your wait is almost over, because it looks like it is iPad Pro 2022 the line will be announced sometime today (October 18).

That’s it Mark Gurman (opens in a new tab)who has a great track record for Apple information, and while he’s the only source that specifically points to a date, others suggest that a launch must also be imminent.

Several leaks have claimed that the iPad Pro 2022 land in Octoberfor example, Gurman has one also noted (opens in a new tab) that most iPad Pro configurations are currently out of stock at many US Apple stores; shipping estimates for some online models slip to November.

This is significant because Apple is unlikely to have a problem with the inventory of these models, so the fact that the company has allowed them to be discontinued suggests that they will be replaced soon.

And to top it all off, Apple tends to announce new products on Tuesdays, with iPad Pro 2021 line announced on Tuesday, for example. So, for now we can’t be sure that today there is the day we see the 2022 iPad Pro lineup looks very likely, and if not today, we’ll probably see these tablets very soon anyway.

Analysis: New base iPad and iPadOS 16.1 too

The iPad Pro 11 (2022) and iPad Pro 12.9 (2022) might not be the only things Apple is about to announce, as leaks suggest we’ll be seeing a new standard iPad (2022) as well, so new options could be at both ends of Apple’s tablet lineup.

Also, we are still waiting for the finished release iPadOS 16 – or rather iPadOS 16.1, as Apple is moving straight to that for the final release. Leaks suggest that this will arrive in October, and it would be wise to announce it alongside the new hardware.

Of course, the actual shipping date of these new ones the best ipad the contenders and availability of iPadOS 16.1 may come a little later, but at least we can have those dates soon as well. Don’t expect a big deal out of it though – leaks suggest that today’s announcement – if it happens in the next few hours – will made through a press release.
