Toyota has added a new SX package for the 2023 Tundra SR5.

This cosmetic package replaces many black trim details with alternatives to suit the body – such as door handles and a rear interior bumper. The tundra, equipped with the SX package, can be treated in one of four colors: white, magnetic gray metallic, celestial silver metallic and northern black metallic.

The Tundra icons have been removed for a cleaner look, although the 4×4 models get a darkened icon. All four corners are equipped with 18-inch dark gray discs. The interior has undergone minor adjustments with black accents that replace many of the SR5’s silver finishes.

In many ways the SX package is similar to the Nightshade cleaning found on other Toyota cars such as the Camry, Corolla and now Wreath. Messenger, as the name implies, provides a darkened aesthetic through darkened details of finishes, coatings and wheels.

SX can be added to SR5 4×2 or 4×4; Double Cabs with a 6.5 foot bed and CrewMax models with a 5.5 foot bed. It will still use the standard 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 i-FORCE SR5, which produces 389 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque.

The exact prices for the Tundra SR5 2023, as well as for the SX package, have not yet been disclosed; however, Tundra said the new option would offer “an updated look at no great price.”
