Trans Am Memorial Day Classic returns to Lime Rock Park

The lush slopes of the 300-acre Lime Rock Park will host an exciting mix of modern and vintage racing cars, a craft beer festival, live music and two curatorial car shows this weekend on Remembrance Day.

Lime Rock Park begins the summer season with races from SpeedTour, including the Trans Am Series from Pirelli, the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) and the International GT (IGT), for the perennial Trans Am Memorial Day Classic (May 27-30). ).

Starting Friday, May 27, on the track with SVRA and IGT will be a “blank story” of motorsport: from IndyCars at 200 miles per hour and vintage Formula 1 cars to the classic Jaguar and Porsche.

Trans Am will deliver a large dose of Americana in a pair of 100-mile races on the original 1.53-mile-long Lime Rock track. The highly competitive TA2 class, which features mascaras such as the Mustang, Camaros and Challengers, will storm the field on Saturday, May 28 (13:20 ET). Remembrance Day (Monday, May 30) will once again be marked by thunder from the 850-horsepower American V8 in the Trans Am class along with the best serial GT cars competing against it in the XGT, SGT and GT classes (1:55 p.m. ET).

New to this year’s weekend schedule is the Connecticut Craft Beer Grand Prix. On Sunday, May 29, in Lime Rock, accompanied by the best food trucks, more than two dozen local breweries will demonstrate the excellent quality and variety of Connecticut craft beer. Also on Sunday, fans can mingle among the hundreds of cars that will be at the Royals Garage Car Show and Hagerty Cars and Caffeine as part of Sunday’s event at The Park.
