In September 2022, Volta Trucks reached a major milestone with the launch of the all-electric 16-tonne Volta Zero truck at its facility in Styria, Austria. Only 12 months have passed since the first presentation of the concept. Indeed, the rapid development of the car is a testament to the company’s ambitions to transform urban distribution into the electric age.

The following month, Volta Trucks demonstrated a prototype to test the first generation design at Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedford, UK. Speaking at the event, Executive Director Essa Al-Saleh says Automotive world that the Volta Zero embodies company founder Karl-Magnus Norden’s vision for an e-truck that addresses sustainability, safety and the shortage of commercial vehicle drivers.
