For over a decade now, Food52 has been one of the best places for foodies to gather online, thanks to their curated collection of recipes, cookware (including own line) and cooking tips. Now the brand has taken the next logical step in their quest to conquer your kitchen with the introduction of Food52 Pantry, their debut line of ingredients to use in their recipes.
To find and curate online pantry — a process that took more than 18 months — Food52 brought in Sébastien Sardo, formerly head of produce at Eataly, a decision that resulted in a distinctly Mediterranean bent for the collection. There are plenty of high-quality Italian pastas, tomatoes, vinegars and olive oils, but there is also something to choose from even for those with different tastes, such as coffee, harissanut butters, seafood and bakers’ preserves, four types of flour and five types of baker’s chocolate.
At launch, Food52 Pantry consists of about forty individual products, some of which can be purchased together as sets. There are also seven recipe packs that provide selected essential items for cooking some of the sites the most popular recipes, including shakshuka, tuna pasta and the “perfect” chocolate chip cookie. And while these are the products available at launch, Food52 plans to continually add new ingredients to its online pantry in the future.
The entire Food52 Pantry line is available now at the Food52 online store, starting at $4 each a can of tomatoes up to $85 per “Syrup as desired» A set of recipes for pancakes on olive oil with chocolate and sea salt. Check out some of our favorites from the lineup below.
