He may have won the last time the World Rally Championship was held on tarmac, but that doesn’t mean Ott Tenac is confident of winning this week’s Rally Spain.

After two gravel events, the championship is back on black, but while Hyundai was competitive in Belgium and Croatia earlier in the season, Spain’s different surface characteristics mean its drivers, particularly Tenac, are not as confident ahead of the event.

“Let’s see, obviously Spain is very, very different from Ypres,” the Hyundai driver told DirtFish.

“It’s a really clean event on the tarmac, very spicy, so . . .”
