While fighting AJ Allmendinger for the lead, Berry hit the wall in Turn 4 on lap 168 of 301, but Berry was able to hang on and strip Allmendinger of the lead.

Berry then had to fend off a late charge from his JR Motorsports teammate, Noah Gregsonand edged him by 1.125 seconds at the checkered flag for the win.

With the win, Berry automatically moves into the Series 4 Championship regardless of his performances in the next two races and will challenge for the title in 2022 at Phoenix Raceway.

The win was Berry’s third of the season, his first full contest with JRM.

“The whole time in Turn 4 I was a little shy. He (Allmendinger) left me a lane, but nothing too much,” Berry said of his race-ending battle for the lead. “But I didn’t let go. It was for the trip to Phoenix. I was ready to hit a wall and have a flat tire or whatever for these guys.

“These guys have done such a great job all year. We’ve had a tough few weeks and months, but we knew we’d make it if we were at our best.

“We had a caution with (34) and I was able to take the lead away from those guys and create enough of a gap to keep it. I simply lost the gift of language.’

Justin Allgaier finished by getting JRM a 1-2-3 finish. Ty Gibbs was fourth and Trevor Bain rounded out the top five.

Rounding out the top 10 are Austin Hill, Sam Mayer, Daniel Hemrick, Brandon Jones and Anthony Alfredo.

There are two races left in the semi-final round of the playoffs. The four drivers with the fewest points and are in danger of missing out on Championship 4: Mayer, Jones, Allmendinger and Hill.

3 stage

After the break between stages 2 and 3, all the leading cars lapped and Hill was the first to exit the pit lane. Both Hemrick and Bain fouled during their pit stops and had to restart from the back of the field.

On the restart on lap 97, Hill was followed by Jones, Gregson, Allgaier and Gibbs.

Jones quickly took the lead on the restart.

Berry grabbed the lead from Jones on the high side exiting Turn 4 on lap 101.

With 75 laps to go, Gregson was right behind Berry battling for the lead, with Gibbs back in third.

On lap 132, Gregson was finally able to get around Berry in turns 1 and 2 to regain the lead.

With 62 laps to go, Hill became the first of the leading cars to make their final green flag pit stops to get fresh tires and fuel to make it to the finish line of the race. Bane followed him on the next lap.

Gragson, the leader at the time, pulled into pit road on lap 145 to make his final stop.

John Hunter Nemechek and Mayette Synder were ticketed for speeding and Riley Herbst committed a security breach. All three had to serve passing penalties on the pit lane under the green.

After the cycle of stops was completed on lap 148, Gragson was back in the lead, followed by Gibbs and Allgaier.

Jones, who was in the top 10, spun out of Turn 2 on lap 161 to bring out the caution. Most of the cars leading laps, with Gregson first out of pit road.

Landon Cassill stayed on the track and inherited the lead. On the restart on lap 167 he was followed by Gregson, Gibbs, Allmendinger and Berry.

Allmendinger passed Cassil and took the lead on the restart. On lap 168, after Allmendinger made contact with Berry, Berry regained the lead.

On lap 178, Allmendinger, who was running fourth, was forced to pit under the green due to what he believed to be a loose wheel. He returned to the track in 22nd place and one lap down.

The team confirmed that both Allmendinger’s No. 16 Chevrolet’s right tires were loose.

With five laps to go, Berry remained 1.6 seconds ahead of Allgaier, with Gregson close behind in third.

2 stage

Gregson held off a fast-charging Gibbs to take the Stage 2 win, his 14th stage win of the year and most of any rider.

Jones was third, Hill fourth and Allgaier rounded out the top five.

After the break between stages 1 and 2, all the leading cars pit, with Gibbs the first to exit the pit lane.

On the restart on lap 52 Gibbs was followed by Hill, Gregson and Jones.

Gregson went triple on the restart to regain the lead as Gibbs dropped to sixth.

With 25 laps to go in the stage, Gregson was 2.5 seconds ahead of Jones, with Gibbs running third.

With five laps to go, Gregson maintained a 3-second lead over Jones. Gibbs ran third, 3.2 seconds behind the leader.

Gibbs passed Jones with four laps remaining to move back into second place.

1 stage

Gibbs took victory over Hill in Stage 1, his seventh of the 2022 season.

Gragson was third, Allgaier fourth and Jones rounded out the top five.

Allmendinger started on the pole and quickly took the lead.

On the seventh lap, Gragson moved to the inside of Allmendinger and took over the top spot.

With 25 laps remaining in the stage, Gregson held a small gap on Gibbs, with Allmendinger dropping to third.

On lap 24, Gibbs moved to the inside of Gregson and took the lead for the first time in the race.

With five laps to go, Gibbs was 3.6 seconds ahead of Hill, with Gregson in third.
