Pramac Ducati’s Jorge Martin starts the race from pole position for the third time this season after passing Honda’s Marco Marquez to take first, setting a new lap record in qualifying.

Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) will be the main title contender in third position, but main title rivals Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia) and Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) will start just behind him in fourth and fifth respectively.

Ducati last won the race at Phillip Island in 2011, and all subsequent Australian Grands Prix have been won by Honda and Yamaha riders.
